New puppy
Vaccinations
Puppies need three sets of shots to build up their immunity. The first set is given when the puppy is weaned at about 6-8 weeks of age and then every 3 weeks after that.
1st visit (6-8 weeks):
5in1 (Parvovirus, Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Leptospirosis)
Fecal Exam: Check for intestinal parasites and protozoa this is an additional service that can be added to any visit. Fecal tests run $20 or are included in the annual canine package. If you would like a test done, please bring a sample with you.
2nd visit (9-12 weeks):
Boosters: 5-1 & Bordetella (kennel cough)
3rd visit (13-16 weeks):
Final boosters: 5-1, Bordetella, and Rabies
Good Habits
While they are still young, it is a good idea to start certain practices that will make taking care of your puppy easier as they get older.
Nail trims: Play with your puppy’s feet and nails to get them used to touching that area.
Teeth brushing: Use a finger brush or canine tooth brush in their mouth. Teeth should be brushed 2-3 times a week.
Ear cleaning: Play with your puppy’s ears so that ear cleaning won’t be a problem when they get older.
Training: Check out the staff favorites page for our recommended dog trainers. You can always teach an old dog new tricks, but it’s easier to start young!
Spay and Neuter
Females can be spayed at 4 months of age and up, preferably before their first heat cycle. (contact for pricing)
Males can be neutered at 4 months of age and up, preferably before bad habits begin to develop. (contact for pricing)
While under anesthesia, it is an opportune time to do other procedures. Not all puppies lose their baby teeth on their own; it is important to remove any puppy teeth that have not come out. This is also a good time to get your pet microchipped.
New Kitten

Boosters: 3 in 1
+ Feline Leukemia (if outdoor)
3rd visit (13-16 weeks):
Final boosters: 3 in 1, Leukemia (if outdoor), and Rabies
Socialization
Minimal socialization can cause unnecessary stress to our pets. Stress from poor socialization may result in behavioral problems such as scratching furniture, going outside of the litter box, and aggression. Try slowly introducing new cats/kittens to their new family members, use a soft and calm voice when bonding and remember to go slow and be patient!
Spay and Neuter
Kittens can be sterilized as soon as 15 weeks of age. We recommend this a week after their final round of vaccinations.
Feline Neuter: $240
Feline Spay: $260
Heat cycles, cryptorchid (hidden testicles) and obesity fees may apply
